Meals: Breakfast & lunch onboard, dinner ashore

Cruise this morning on the scenic Canal de Bourgogne. Now is the time to relax on deck or explore on foot or by bicycle – the choice is always yours! Your Tour Guide then introduces the vineyards of Chablis. Sample several vintages of these famous wines at a private grower. Only the wines produced in this region can be truly labeled Chablis. Dine this evening on traditional and authentic cuisine at bistro Le Maufoux Chablis.

Experience a Gorgeous Renaissance Chateau!
Travel: Lezinnes to Ancy-le-France
Meals: Breakfast & lunch onboard, dinner ashore

Float leisurely through idyllic countryside to our mooring right on the grounds of Ancy-le-Franc, one of the few Renaissance style chateaux in France. Renowned for its 16th century frescos, which arguably rival those of Fountainebleau, Ancy-le-Franc has been sensitively renovated and restored. Explore the chateau’s parklands and gardens, as well. Enjoy dinner at Le Saint-Pere Tonnerre, a welcoming owner-operated restaurant.

Eleventh Century Abbaye
Travel: Ancy-le-Franc to Ravieres
Meals: Breakfast lunch onboard, dinner ashore

After a relaxing cruise to start the day, your Tour Guide presents Abbaye de Fontenay, founded in 1118 by St Bernard. This meticulously preserved site is a rare example of Cistercian architecture that reflects a devoutly religious life: peaceful gardens, placid ponds and stately structures. Dinner is at La Parenthèse where Chef designs each dish to capture the essence of the moment with seasonal ingredients. Presentations are designed as much to please the eye as the palate.

Travel: Ravieres to Montbard
Meals: Breakfast & lunch onboard, dinner ashore

Continue your cruise this morning on the Canal de Bourgogne. Then encounter Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, setting for the movie Chocolat. With your Tour Guide, explore this Medieval gem – the cobblestoned streets, secret alleys, and ancient squares. Scent in the air will guide you to the old Benedictine abbey where the signature candy Anis is made and sold. Dine tonight at La Cuisine de la Fontaignotte, located in a 17th century mansion inside the walled village of Semur-en-Auxois.

The best of Burgundy in Beaune
Travel: Montbard to Venarey-les-Laumes
Meals: Breakfast & lunch onboard, dinner ashore

This afternoon discover Beaune, wine capital of Burgundy, where millions of bottles are stored in caves under the streets. Most important is the immaculately preserved Hospice de Beaune, a charity hospital built in the 15th century (and which treated patients until the early 20th century!). There will also be time to shop or enjoy a cafe in the square. Dining at Regis Bolatre’s Auberge du Cheval Blanc, where you can explore new flavors or rediscover your favorite classics. Reminisce about your gourmet adventures, idyllic cruising and warm onboard welcome.
