Glide Through the Gorgeous Backdrop of Gascony on the Barge Rosa
Glide through the gorgeous backdrop of Gascony…
Guests in Gascony are invited to slow down, savor idyllic scenery, and enjoy life’s small pleasures on the 8-passenger, Charming class Rosa.
With its placid canals, timeless vistas, and bucolic cruise route, exploring the southwest of France is a snap on this darling barge. A pretty salon and spacious sundeck beckon for fun and festivities, while four cozy ensuite cabins comfortably accommodate private groups of up to eight passengers.
A gourmet taste of Gascony’s gastronomy is another of the Rosa’s calling cards. Adventurous foodies are cordially invited to feast on the region’s rich flavors and abundant produce, paired with the area’s sweet wines and boutique spirits.
For casual travelers and fervent Francophiles, the Barge Ladies are delighted to present the Rosa as one of our go-to boats in Gascony.

A BEAUTIFUL BOAT
Although our group of eight was Rosa’s first cruise of the season, you wouldn’t have known it.
From the accommodations to the excursions to the hospitality, it was evident we were being looked after by a skilled crew on a beautiful boat.
COZY AND COMFORTABLE CABINS
Cozy is a great description for the cabins on the Rosa. Having cruised on other barges, their compact size was not unexpected.
They were very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Our group only used the cabins for sleeping and showering, which was just perfect.
AN OUTSTANDING CREW
The crew was outstanding. From Captain Julien, Tour Guide (and the Captain’s spouse!) Nicole, and the all-around attendant, Hostess Agatha, everyone was stellar.
Tour Guide Nicole was both our chauffeur and in charge of the daily excursions. Many of these activities involved historical matters and she obviously knew her stuff.
OUR PRIVATE MICHELIN-TRAINED CHEF
Our private Chef, Stefan, had trained in at least one Michelin restaurant, and the onboard cuisine reflected that fact.
Meals were beautifully presented and always very tasty, each course being even better than the last.
A SECOND CRUISE WITH THE BARGE LADIES
This is the second time we relied on Barge Lady Cruises to help us select a vessel, and once again the service was spot-on, timely, and extremely helpful.
Should we decide to take our third barge cruise, consider it vouchsafed that we will once again contact the experts at Barge Lady Cruises. – Jim S.
