Floating French Lifestyles Await Pampered Passengers on the Barge La Vie en Rose
Floating French Lifestyle on La Vie en Rose…
Live life in pink on La Vie en Rose! The Charming class, three-cabin barge La Vie en Rose is the creation of French captain Alexandre Arsie. Having named his boat after the iconic torch song sung by French chanteuse Edith Piaf, Captain Alex welcomes his passengers to an authentic experience featuring the local wines, refined cuisine, and leisurely lifestyles found in the deep in the heart of Southern Burgundy.
An expert on the area’s Premier Cru appellations, Captain Alex happily introduces guests to area winemakers with whom he has longstanding personal connections. After a day of tasting and touring at local vineyards, the barge’s chic salon and spacious sundeck provide the perfect places to socialize, while three compact cabins ensure cozy comforts for private groups of up to six.
Southern Burgundy’s sumptuous food and wine is creatively presented on La Vie en Rose. Curious about Continental cooking? Aspiring culinarians are invited to join their private Chef in the open galley as he uses market fresh ingredients to expertly craft gourmet French fare. Meals are paired with the area’s boutique wines selected and served by the crew. A toast to La Vie en Rose!
The Barge Ladies are delighted to suggest La Vie en Rose to casual travelers seeking an intimate and relaxed cruise on the French canals. Carol J. and Joanne W. are among the many guests who have enjoyed cruising on this delightful barge. Here is what they liked most about life in pink on La Vie en Rose:
A GORGEOUS BOAT, A WELCOME GIFT
The week on La Vie en Rose far exceeded our expectations. It was the best cruising experience we’ve had, and all four of us have travelled quite a bit.
The boat itself was gorgeous, and the ambiance was equally as memorable! Immediately upon arrival we were gifted handmade lavender sachets as we sipped champagne on the lovely deck.
CLEVERLY DESIGNED CABINS
Although we knew the cabins were compact, we were pleasantly surprised at how cleverly they were designed. Closet space was adequate and the air conditioning worked well.
The ensuite bathroom was much larger than we expected. There was good storage on the shelf, as well as under the sink, and the shower was quite nice.
SO MUCH FUN WITH THE CREW
The crew of four was led by Captain Alex Arsie, and all of them were outstanding. We especially enjoyed being met by Hostess Claire with a light refreshing drink after the afternoon excursions.
Four crew for four people was amazing! Someone was always asking if we needed anything, and they were willing to go the extra mile for any requests. We had so much fun with all of them.
THE OPEN KITCHEN WITH CHEF SYLVAIN
Sylvain is an amazing and creative Chef. He even got us to try escargots! It was also nice having the open kitchen where we could watch him cook. He invited us to observe and ask questions.
Chef Sylvain also did a culinary demonstration for us as he made the evening meal of delicious salt encrusted salmon. He also had us each have a go at making fancy garnishes!
THE BEST TIME POSSIBLE
Thanks to the services from Barge Lady Cruises, we all agree that our cruise on La Vie en Rose was a lovely, once-in-a lifetime experience that will be treasured in our memory banks forever.
We have been sharing with our friends back home that barge cruising on La Vie en Rose is all about the most personal and attentive crew wanting to ensure you had the best time possible. And we certainly did!
